• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Malmö Airport (ESMS) Help needed to export into the sim and finish

A few years ago i started work on Malmö Airport in southern Sweden, I worked on it for approximately 1,5 years but when Orbx released their version i realized that this one would never actually compete commercially and I lost a little motivation. My expertise when it comes to exporting this model into the sim is limited, so i was wondering if anyone wanted to make my model actually have a use. The model is made in Blender and all the textures are already optimized to MSFS with the Exporter addon that exists in Blender, the model is missing ground textures though and also the jetways are in no way animated. All buildings in the airport area and its surroundings are completed and textured true to life including accurate signs and other details, at least for when I did a visit 😅 The main terminal might not be the highest quality though, but the jetways are highly detailed.
I unfortunately don't have any form of compensation to give out, but the person exporting it will be able to decide what they want to do with it, with some credit to me 🤓. This might not be an attractive offer at all but I just wanted to give it a shot since the model is just sitting here on my drive anyways.

Here are some renders :)

Excellent modelling, and a great opportunity for someone with decent SDK skills to jump on. Are you offering this model to someone who may want to take it into commercial waters, and only asking for a credit (name mentioned as an author) in compensation?

In my opinion, you should take time and finish this, and offer it on MP, at a competitive price compared to Orbx. You'll get back more than you think. The SDK airport setup is not that difficult, nor is animation and tagging, although I am a strictly 3DS MAX guy so I can't really speak for Blender side of things.

Plenty of tutorials on YT on how to make an airport, and you can always post a question here on FSDeveloper... heck, I'll be monitoring and will help where I can.

Thank you for the reply!
Tbh I don't think it's commercially viable since there already is a more detailed version, but I (or someone) might be able to offer it as a freeware, maybe just with the name credit.

I will try to experiment more with trying to get it into the sim. Will check some more tutorials when I have time, thank you ☺️
