• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi...

is there a way to spin my texture on that simply poly

sitting about 3 day on it... :tongue-ti

thanks...

Sorry, but the answer is no. You can not influence the orientation of the texture mapping in FSSC. I think the scale of the polygons influences how often the texture is repeated, but it is always north facing.

Hi!!!

I wanted to ask the same question... And I just found it in this topic.

So, what tool is necessary to do that? :banghead: :yikes:

I've the same problem to spin my texture, and it's really turning to be a headache...
I need a tool allowing to do that... for texturing an apron...

Thank you very much for a possible answer avoiding I turn crazy...

(My english is awful, I know.... Sorry and excuses...)

Hi,

Unfortunately none of these older tools have been updated to the Fs2002 floating point commands, which give you much more control of the texture mapping. And I doubt if we will ever see it happening, now that we are moving to XML.

The only tool I can think of at the moment that gives you good texture mapping options is GMax. But that is not a perfect tool for ground polygons either. So in the end I do now use GMax with the Fs2002 gamepack for my ground polygons (with some source code tweaks to get them to display correctly).

Did you check the FS version in the FSSC preferences? By default it is set to Fs98 or so and that does not allow all options.
