• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Marking posts as read (atomatic)

Arno,
more and more I observe that when I check one topic, and then click on the link in box above control panel (so I don't use back button), the topic I have just read is still marked as unread. It is kinda confusing. Is there any option about this that when I leave topic (without using BACK button), that it is marked then as read?
And one more question: have You got bunch of MS SDK links I posted yesterday in Tools forum?

Best regards,

Hi Goran,

Yes, I got your post, I just validated it. I had forgotten to enable the email notification for new posts, so that's why I missed it for a while. Your post should be visible now. Thanks for it, it's a nice collection of SDK information.

About the posts. Yes, I have also noticed that sometimes. Are you sure you are logged in correct and have allowed to cookie?

If I have read the manual correct this forum stores read posts in two ways. While you are browsing it is stored using the cookie. Only after a certain time (set to 15 minutes now) is this information also updated in the database. So if you come back to the website earlier they are still marked unread.
I tried to decrease that time, but that gave problems for users on public computers, as they will also be logged out after that shorter time.
So I think your problem (which I have also seen) is mainly related to cookies. But I will try to search some more info on this.

Hi Arno!
Thanks for info, I was afraid that mail went to neverland :)
About the forum. I have enabled cookies and I am automatically logged in; I also see a little welcome message in upper right corner so I think it is okay. But inactivity timer could be the answer for this problem.
Thx and best regards,
