FS2004 Mayday - one lightmap texture for all seasons?

Hi all,

At the very end of my scenery project I face a serious problem. Is there a way to define a lightmap texture for every season texture? If not, how do you prevent summer nightlight during winter???

Thanks for input!

Hi,

What kind of scenery is this? Photo scenery, custom ground polygons?

For custom ground polygons you can technically define a different nightmap for each season, although most tools will always assign the same.

Hi Arno, yes it's about my custom groundpolys. I use your MCX ground poly wizard to compile them.
I would need an extra LM texture for the winterseason texture. Spring, summer and fall textures work well with my default LM. How should I proceed?

Thank you,
Volker

It's a FS9 scenery btw.

Hi,

What you can best do then is keep the SCA file during using the wizard in MCX. And then you can manually change the name of the night texture that is used for the winter season. Then compile the SCA again and it should work.

For anyone else who might wonders how this works. Find the TextureList section within the SCA file and simply overwrite the appropriate texture name. You don't have to add anything, each season texture has an own LM texture entry.

Code:
TextureList( 0
5 00 128 128 128 0 1000.0 "APRON_A1.BMP"
256 00 128 128 128 0 1000.0 "APRON_A1_LM.BMP"
5 00 128 128 128 0 1000.0 "APRON_A1_WI.BMP"
256 00 128 128 128 0 1000.0 "APRON_A1_WI_LM.BMP"
5 00 128 128 128 0 1000.0 "APRON_A2.BMP"
256 00 128 128 128 0 1000.0 "APRON_A2_LM.BMP"
