• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

My textures are gone?

I created a model with SU and exported it as DAE following the tutorial. Then I used ModelConverterX to do the other conversions, I simply used the defaults without renaming textures (too much work) using the UPDATE button. Then I used library creator to create a BGL with my model in it. I placed this BGL in the scenery folder and all the DDS textures (FSX) in the textures folder.

I rebuilt the scenery cache just to make sure but when I load the airport in FSX I see the model but now all the textures are gone..

In the (FSDev-MPCE-SU) attachment you can see how the model looks in SketchUp, the tower windows have the "Translucent Glass Sky Reflection" texture and all other windows and glass doors have a translucent glass (either blueish or dark grey).

In the other attachment (FSDev-MPCE) you can see how it looks in FSX, the textures are gone and all the glass (translucent) places are totally see-through. In particular the tower doesn't show the sky reflection texture and the other windows don't show the dark glass, instead the windows and doors now are totally transparent and in fact you can see that even shows the back wall as transparent only drawing the back windows. Very odd.

I checked the DDS files in the texture folder and they are all OK.

Any ideas?

It's clear that the model is untexturized, something wrong in the pocess because in dae format could be see that is correct, what get me confused is about not to rename the textures?¡, it's not hard work absolutly, just click on rename it, and the textures take the name of your project,(be sure to indicate the path to your texture folder) i think that's so. greetings, saludos.

Hi,

From the pictures I can't clearly see where the textures are. For example are there textures on the windows? Also in SketchUp they just look like holes to me.

When you import the object in ModelConverterX you should be able to see where there are textures and where not. How does the object look in ModelConverterX after you import it, do you see it like in SketchUp or more like in FSX?
