• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

Need Help with the Effect Controller please.

Hello,

Could someone please tell me how a effect controller works and,
what the parameters mean in the file?

Here is a controller that i found posted in here i copy and pasted it so i could show what parts i dont understnd i will highlight the parts i dont understand in Bold text.

Hey pilot,

I dont know if you have read it yet, but the fs2004 special effects SDK will explain what each parameter does. If you have and just dont understand it, i will try to explain it better...ready to go to work now.

Oh yeah i forgot it was in the SDK i have seen it in the SDK before but i guess i wasent looking for it when i seen it and i forgot it was there lol.

Ok i have got a question:

when i open the lights .fx file strobe.fx, navgrn.fx, beacon.fx etc,
it has heaps of emitters can i remove some of the emitters will the effect still work?

Each emitter emits particles (I guess that's why they are called emitters:D). That means if you delete an emitter you won't see all particles. But for the better understanding of how an fx works it's best to just use one emitter. Then you can see what this emitter does.
Several emitters can be very useful to create an effect that emits particles almost randomly - take a look at the strobes.fx for this. ;)

It's just too hard to do an effect with somany emitters and particles but i will learn well i done one with five emitters and particles it was smoke for the extra300s
Red , Green , Blue Smoke.
