• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

New Landclass isn't overriding default

I am working on an area of British Columbia called "Whistler". In the default FSX/Accel, the lakes you see are not present (at least they weren't in mine running GEX and UTX). However the areas designated as part of a Golf Course were (odd since the Lakes and the Golf Course go hand in hand, as this is a Jack Nicklaus Resort Area).

Anyway, I wanted to knock out the default Golf areas and do more precise ground poly's to designate where the courses are actually laid out. As you can see, on the SBuilderX screen, I've done that, or at least I thought I had, but after compiling the land class and adding it to the scenery, I still have the default Golf Course showing.

Any suggestions on what I may be missing here? Thanks!!

These golf courses *probably* are not made from land class data, but are polys introduced on top of the land class. SBX allows you to make a poly and exclude a specific terrain type, ie. golf courses. That should allow you to come back and redraw the proper course layout.

That was it (of course). There are a few other odd areas, little patches of ground textures that are completely out of place in the forest, lol. Not sure what they are as they don't seem to show up in the TmfViewer. They aren't golf course textures though, as I've tried that one. They're far enough out of the main scenery that it isn't of great concern. Thanks again Lance.
