• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Night texturing

Hi,

I am new since a few days. Have found the excellent tutorial "Creating Night Textures for Scenery" from Al Heline here ont the Forum... thanks!
Still it remains a weird thing to accomplish the operation to a good end. At the end PSP is not so clear about what to do with the files.
Now, I see at least the so long expected night ground texture in FS2002. Although I must find now the way to scale the projection of the light beam to a reasonable proportion.
When I have a good result I will post a screenshot.

Tutorial "Lord_Quillian2"

Hi,

I downloaded his tutorial from this Forum. As he asked for some help to make a smaler file of it, I put it into a PDF-file. It's called "Night Lighting and making Night Windows".
If I had a valid e-mail address of the author: "Lord_Quillian2" I can send it to him, to this Forum or to those who wants it.

Hi Jose,

That looks nice :).

How did you make the apron? How to add a shadow depends on the tools you used to make it.

Schadow possible ?

Hi,

I am using Airport for Windows 2.6 (running FS2002) and PSP7.
FSSC and GMAX 1.2 are not yet used.

Hi Jose,

With AFW the shadow should always work. Are you sure you have enabled the shadow in your FS settings?

Shadow enabled

Hi,

This setting is enabled. I have checked it on the freeware scenery of LOWL, where there is also nightlighting. No shadow can be seen either.
However I am pleased with the result, hà... but I hope that in the future it will be solved of course.

Hi Jose,

Then it could also be in the code used to place the night textures. How did you add them to the apron?
