• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi, been working on this for weeks..I have an image I would like help on. Look at the first image and notice in the model parts, he has visibility and animation. Now look at mine. I have my propellers set on 10000 in the condition variables. If I can't get that, am I dead in the water as far as ever having working propellers? Now look at the three follwing images..no animation showing in picture or Image 3.

Doesn't matter if i isolate export import...the animation is not showing up in the model part window so I can't assign and save the visibility and the animation at the same time.

Thanks for any help.

When you load the original FS9 model into MCX, do the props rotate using the animation slider? If so look in the animation list and you'll probably see that they have been assigned an "engine(x)" tag ( x being a number). Select that part and assign a "prop(x)" tag instead. Then you can isolate and export the part.
The reason is that the engine tag doesn't exist by default in the modeldef.xml so the animation gets lost and can't be (easily) replaced.
Hope that helps.

I was just updating and went in while plane in wire mode and i decided to assign engines to prop0_blurred and prop1_blurred exported and went back in to look at Hierarchy and I will be darned...it was there. Couldn't believe my eyes :) now if i can just get the prop to show blades when still and spin up when taxing...this is an ai btw. now to get the wheels to show and the flaps to show movement in p3dv4..i will be so happy and Piedmont Airlines with Martin 404 service will be up and running...
Thank you DAVEWG!! BTW this is Tom Gibson's AI.... :)...if it don't work right...we'll blame him..

I just noticed this as it was writing files:
Model not found in aircraft.cfg file, loading model normally

That message only means that you are not loading the MDL file associated with the folder's model.cfg file. No big deal.

How do you add the prop textures back into Material Editor. I want to use the ual props and wheels because I guess it is using the spin props instead so I don't see propellers at all in the sim just a blur and not sure they will spin either.

Thanks

It appears that you have the wrong texture labeled PROP HI, that's all. The PROP HI material is still listed there. You can change the texture name in the Material Editor, if you like.
