• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hail Masters,

Can someone tell us a brief tutorial about placing autogen and library objects and what kind of a landclass to fill underneath them?

Which objects must be placed with polylines and which are with polygons to fill? How to place them, randomize them, elevate them, head them ?
e.g - I drow a polyline to place an apartments and every dot I put in my line showed up as an instance of the object. I put a polydot :) to place a stadium.

Trial and error takes too much time, if someone can share this piece of information we will be glad.

Which version of FSX?

Hey, is there anybody out there?
I see no movement in the forum? What is going on?
Where did everybody go?

We're all here, freezing in this very cold winter some of us are having.

I can say, that I have never used FSX_KML to place autogen or strings of objects. I use it strictly for terrain (water, coasts, roads, etc.)--so I can't really answer your question about it.

If I need an object in my scenery, I add it as a SceneryObject via xml, I do not use FSX_KML for that. I may have to try using FSX_KML for that sometime, though, if I ever need a string of trees, for example.

I see you are from Kayseri, isn't that in central Turkey? If yes, that city used to be called Caesarea in ancient times. :)

Thank you Mace,

That's right this is an old city, there had been countless civilization lived in here. Romans called here Caesseria. Even Commodus (the bad ceaser from gladiator the movie) leaved in here (yes Commodus was real). The first known money printing house was also built here by roman empire. etc. A huge ancient history too much to tell. Story goes back to B.C. 4000

I give up using FSX KML to place objects but instead I found "whisplacer" that one is realy powerful, easy to use tool to place objects.

But I am sure that with a little help FSX KML can even turn to a good object placement tool as well.

Yet, I still have problems excluding the default scenery. (My other topic)

I too have used Whisplacer to place objects. It is a good tool for that.

I have also used a program called ADE to place objects.

Strings of autogen...now that I have never done. I guess if I were going to do that, I would use the Annotator tool that comes with the SDK. Maybe one of the other tools can place autogen, but I am not sure. Jon the other participant in this thread, would know if ADE could.

Good to hear about Kayseri. Lately, I have been reading a little bit about Inonu and Ataturk, history of Turkeym, etc. so it was a coincidence, you being from Turkey and all of that. :D
