• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Official info about 2nd FSX SDK update

That certainly looks very interesting. I am looking forward to see what it will be able to do.

Hello

If well understood, this update FSX_SDK_SP1A is not yet available?
The "download" link still calls the FSX_SDK_SP1.exe of december 2006?

As far as i understand, FSX SDK SP1a will be released at the same time as FSX SP1. According to latest rumours this wont happen before May 07.

Thanks for the update Doug :)
i'm sure it's not just the developers that are waiting for it,
but the FSX community in general, many will be looking forward for any improvements that, hopefully it will bring us all :greenflag

Bug in waypoint and route info ?

Correct.

-Doug

Hi Doug,

could you please forward the following info to the one who "owns" the navaid data of FSX ?

I'm pretty sure that i've found two and a half bugs in the waypoint and route data of FSX (pre SP1).

1) In file "Scenery\1002\scenery\ATX10020.bgl":
Please check waypoint "RK.VENUS.[WPT]". In its route "W45.B" info, the "prev" connection points to waypoint "RK.KWJ.[VOR]".
However, the scenery does not contain that waypoint.
Most likely, the prev link should point to "RK.KWA.[VOR]" near airport "RKJJ" instead.

2a) In file "Scenery\1105\scenery\ATX11050.bgl":
Please check waypoint "YM.BLUEY.[WPT]". In its route "W144.V" info, the "prev" connection points to waypoint "YM.RIC.[VOR]".
However, the scenery does not contain that VOR.
Most likely, the prev link should point to "YM.RIC.[NDB]" near airport "YSRI" instead.

2b) Also in file "Scenery\1105\scenery\ATX11050.bgl":
Please check waypoint "YM.GLF.[NDB]". In its route "W430.V" info, the "prev" connection points to waypoint "YM.RIC.[VOR]".
However, the scenery does not contain that VOR.
Most likely, the prev link should point to "YM.RIC.[NDB]" near airport "YSRI" instead.

To make sure that these bugs are not just bugs in my scenery reading code, i verified them with ScruffyDucks SDE Tool and FSC (FlightSim Commander 8.0). Both show the same data that i have read.

Then i checked both locations with Google Earth. See the four attached KMZ files.
File "rk_kwa_ok.kmz" : This is the position of "RK.KWA.[VOR]", which i think is correct.
File "rk_kwj_bug.kmz": This is the position of "RK.KWJ.[VOR]", which i think is wrong.
File "ym_ric_ok.kmz" : This is the position of "YM.RIC.[NDB]", which i think is correct.
File "ym_ric_bug.kmz": This is the position of "YM.RIC.[VOR]", which i think is wrong.

I'm not on the SP1 Beta Team, so i have no clue if these bugs have already been fixed for SP1.

Thanks

Please submit this information through the FSInsider site (e-mail to tell_fs@microsoft.com).

I am pretty sure these issues will not be addressed by SP1.

Kudos

Doug, I am happy the team is delaying the release of FSX for more beta testing time.

Now, I hope you will compile a version for my OS X. :)

(I do have a WinXP as well, but my power system is my Mac)
