• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

ADE OK.. Can't load an airport

According to ADE, all folder paths are correct. I click on "File/create project from stock" and the box comes up for F20 Project Properties and I type in the ICAO and absolutely nothing happens. How do I load a default airport???

Hi Brian:

Depending on the "stock" airport you are attempting to load into ADE for MSFS20, you may need to use either of (3) procedures:

https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/t...rport-bgl-files-within-msfs-data-base.456687/

...or this unusual scenario, IMHO arising from another issue in how Asobo decided to deal with some airports in MSFS20

If neither of these (3) categories of scenarios apply to your issue, would you please report back if neither of the above work for you ? ;)

Even though it is now only (6) days from RTM of MSFS24 (with a newer code base), we are still finding new "gotchas" in MSFS20. :banghead:

That all reads like greek (Or is it Geek) to me... Not sure what to do. It worked once but only once. that was a couple of Windows Updates ago. Looks like I'll have to remove ADE and then reinstall and see if it can find the airports again...

Hi again:

[EDITED]

Patrick Germain released a utility which can find and process nearly all default airports in MSFS and output a MSFS Project:

https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/t...here-is-a-small-app-to-help-you-draft.450344/

IIRC, Jon Masterson implemented some of Patrick's methodology in latter revisions of ADE for MSFS.

Before you uninstall ADE for MSFS, you may wish to first create ZIP folder chain backups of your existing ADE20 Project files via:

1.) ADE for MSFS Menu > File > Open Project (Note: The ADE for MSFS20 project file extension is now *.APF and not *.AD4)

2.) ADE for MSFS Menu > Project > Backup

Alternatively, assuming you may have 'hit a wall' with newer airports that ADE for MSFS is no longer able to find / open (as it is no longer in development), if you post a list of ICAO codes for airports that ADE for MSFS20 can not load, we can see if there is a workflow that is successful.

If you attach example existing airport projects that ADE for MSFS20 cannot (re-)load, perhaps we can find out why.

And maybe we can even reply in a language other than "Geek Speak".
