• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Oshkosh EAA - missing scenery

Newbie - Hope I'm doing this right. I would like to add white strobe lights to fs2004 @ coord's, N43 37.211 W88 41,141. (Might have to be revised. I used Garman Mapsource for these coords)
These lights are an integral part of the "Fisk Arrival procedure" utilized by pilots flying into the annual EAA convention held at Oshkosh, WI. The strobes are not included in FS2004 nor Ultimate Terrain. USAroads or the Microsoft Oshkosh addons.
The strobes are located on the highest land just west of the town of Fisk and are aimed southwest along the railroad tracks leading to Ripon, WI. Anyone not familiar with this operation can review the FAA procedure at www.airventure.org/atc/.
Being an old retired ATC'er(37yrs) I simply can't stand flying the procedure, knowing a key feature is missing. If the lights can be added, we can provide a truly beneficial bit of scenery to world of FS2004.
I'll be honest, I don't really care to learn anymore software programs (ie, object placement) hopefully, I can engage an expert to provide me with a simple solution. I will be willing to entertain payware offers.

Well----grabbed the bull by the horns - did my home work and installed a stobe AND a Airport Beacon @ Fisk, WI,;
Gypsy_strobe @ 43 57.20 W88 41.19
Fisk_beacon @ 43 57.18 W88 39.98

Why two????? The further I got into your world of scenery design (WHEW!, you people are Goooood!) and after flight checking (My last 8 yrs with the FAA) it appeared to me that the Microsoft Oshkosh addon Fisk FAA site area and railroad (Ripon, WI thru Oshkosh), did not align/replace the Ulimate Terrain railroad/Fisk FAA site area at Fisk.

Having designed/worked the the original Fisk arrival ATC procedure, as an ATCS, I figured that for my purposes, rather yhan try to learn how to reinvent the FS world I would just add two visual markers. One for the "realist" and one for the "Hey that's close enoughist".

Now I've got the urge to add a mobile home (along with 4 controllers) to the "Gypsy Camp" control site (there is one at actual Fisk site during the EAA convention).
This FS scenery design could get to be addictive !
I would be happy to provide my two files to anyone that might be interested in them. The white strobe marks the Gypsy Camp site, along the UT railroad and the Fisk beacon marks Fisk in the Microsft Oshkosh pogram.
