• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Wouldn't it be nice to have this kind of detail in FS? I needed a diversion from the intense focus on FS development, so decided on a whim to try out a completely different genre.

Now some might be tempted to think that a "truck simulator" would be boring in comparison to "virtual flying" but honestly this is far from true. There is a cruise control, but no autopilot! There is also a (simplified) GPS installed to assist land navigation.

Here I am standing proudly next to my fully-tricked Scania. I picked up a load of critical electronics for transport from Cardiff to Vienna (Wien), but since it was late afternoon already, decided to park at my large garage's yard in Cardiff overnight, top off the tanks at the company pump, and get a very early start on this long trip.

Good heavens this thing has a HUGE tank; 1,200 liters good for ~1,886 miles (~3035 km)!!! :o

I did try the demo of the UK only version but was slightly annoyed that the road layout isn't as detailed as in FSX!
Having said that good fun if you overlook that/drive in areas you don't know.

Agree 100%, I keep seeing a deterioration in many new model planes for FSX. Some even have a "Toy" look to them, which in a way is ok, flying toy planes in FSX is not bad for my six year old grandson who loves these. So far there are four I think have this Toyish look....I hope we see a brand New Sim in the near future, Prepar 3D that was supposed to "move the ball" has totally stopped where it started an there is nothing different from FSX.....This truck sim has great graphics and I sit on the right side while my grandson drives all over Europe in those big Scanias......:D:D:D

:) Well, given that I've only visited Great Britian once before when I was still a tweener (12 going on 13), and have never driven there at all, I was understandably quite nervous about 24T loads on a lowboy trailer there!!!

So, mustering up my courage I simply 'bobtailed' on my first trip across the Channel so I could gain some experience without risking my virtual license...

Much to my surprise, it's just like driving on the right, except being on the opposite side... :rotfl:

Seriously, other than trying twice to turn into the wrong side of a divided motorway, I've had no major problems adjusting to it. Since I spend most of my time on the Continent, all of my trucks are left-hand drive. The trucks in my GB garages are of course right-hand drive, but I leave them to the AI drivers. :D

Erm, you're taller than I thought: at least 8 ft I reckon. I hope this post has not offended you sir, pardon my impudence at daring to speak, I'll be off now... (runs quickly!)

Er, it's a miniature truck! Yeah, what it is is an optical illusion. Seriously, I had no way to judge the relative scale, so I opted for a 'best guess...' :o

The main problem I have driving on the wrong side when I visit the US/Continent is that I spend the first week trying to open the door when I go to change gear!

When I was a test driver for Land Rover, and we were merged over to Rover Group, I remember one day testing the new mid-engine MG sports car. Wild ride, but learning to shift with the left hand was daunting. It also felt very wierd taking tight corners in mountain roads sitting in the right seat. :S
