I have just uploaded SAMM 1.0.04. Now, when you create a library, SAMM will also create a library description file (library_name.txt) and save it with the .bgl. This file will allow FS9 object placement utilities to display the names of the models rather than their Guids.
Did you close SAMM before overwriting the old folders/files?I updated to 1.0.0.4 and unzipped, overwriting existing folders.
My desktop disappeared and I had to restart Vista through the task manager (CTRL-ALT-DEL).
I then wanted to unzip the update again but it was refused as the program was still running.
If it says 1.0.04, then it's updated.I finally managed to get it updated (well, at least it says I load the 1.0.04 version)
I have no idea whether or not the ADE library manager understands library description files. (The library description file is a FS9 "thing". It relates Guid to model name - because that isn't done in the .bgl file. FSX .bgl files, on the other hand, include that information.) Because ADE was first introduced for FSX, perhaps Jon didn't include the FS9 object-name-from-description-file capability. You may have to resort to naming the models yourself in ADE. (Presumably, the index numbers reflect the order in the XML file. Have you ever attempted to place other FS9 library objects with ADE. If so, what happened then? However, updating the ADE LOM with the new library gives me once more a static_aircraft library but with the names static_aircraft.bgl001, static_aircraft_bgl002, etc. And that way I still do not know which is which.
