• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Persistent airport building....?

Another question regarding exclusion rectangles; is it possible through some utility to identify the "insertion" point for a particular piece of scenery? I'm trying to get rid of the default terminals at KSAN, and have had success with all but the westernmost "L" shaped building. I've created MASSIVE exclusion rectangles that cover several hundred yards in every direction, and can't seem to clear that one... it's ridiculous that it apparently has an insertion point somewhere distant(?). Trial and error is horribly painstaking, since for some reason my FSX copy won't clear the scenery bgl, giving me multi-overlapping jetways, etc, when I modify the scenery in-sim.

Since I still would like to have default moving jetways available, just blanketing the airport in a rectangle isn't the best option. How might I identify the building's specific point for the exclude?

Thanks for any ideas, I'm ready to pull out (the rest of) my hair over this one.

Thanks for the tip, I'll give that a shot. One question however- I have no idea where to look for the building/terminals' source bgl file. Will they be located in the same file that contains the airport?

Edit- Apparently not... I've scanned the xml containing the airport for coords anywhere near the terminal building- no go.

:D All I want is to be able to get rid of the terminals without losing the jetways..... is there a simpler method out there that I'm missing in my ignorance?

That building could be a Library Object and not a Generic Building.

Did you exclude BOTH in your exclusion rectangle code?
