• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Printing a list of aircraft

Hope I can explain this. When i want to substitute an aircraft in a flight plan (pick any) and aifp scans and displays a list of aircraft that you can pick from. Is there a way to print a list or copy and paste to wordpad++ and print out?

Just curious. What was the last aifp that Don made..a release etc. The one I am using is AIFP34315. I really miss him.

Greets to all!!

I don't have MS2020, but in FS2004 :-

From within AIFP choose the Aircraft menu (third from the left) then Save Aircraft List As

Do note, as far as I can see, this only lists the aircraft registered in the specific traffic file you've got open.
If you want to introduce another aircraft you'll probably have to edit either the original traffic file, else edit the file you just saved and re-load it into AIFP.

Looks straight-forward enough but I've not actually done it.
Good luck :)

@ Chris Eve Did you say FS2004? wow......Thanks. I was more interested in a text file I could copy and paste that would list all of the 2020/2024 aircraft like AIGAIM etc. Have a great day Chris!!

Yes ... FS2004 ... some of us still like to swing the prop by hand before we go flying ;)

Further down the "Aircraft" menu ... 'Dump Aircraft List as CSV'
Do this as soon as AIFP has loaded, before loading any traffic files, and it lists all the variations on my system!
Not a feature I'd familiarised myself with, but I can see it might be useful!

So its reading the line from aircraft cfg's in the fltsim section? Anyway is this csv stored inside the program and how could i print it out? Thanks Chris :)

Having "dumped" the list, at the bottom of the window that pops up there's a box that says "Use All" - click that and an option to save the csv file appears ;)
There's also a "Include UI" box at the top of the window, which seems to make the list even more comprehensive, but I've not looked into the details.
I think the first option just includes ai-specific aircraft, the "Include UI" option adds every aircraft it can find!
CSV files are just text files in a specific "Comma Separated Values" format, so can be read using any text file program, like Notepad, else you can load it into a spreadsheet for further handling.

Hey Thanks.. Yeah I ticked ui and removed some of the asobo junk .....so if I wanted to add an airplane to an aircraft list.. I would just copy the first part and probably the aircraft number?
AIGAIM_21 Air Boeing 767-200 - BDSF DHL, 460, N652GT, CARGO SOUTH, , G:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator\Community\aig-aitraffic-oci\SimObjects\Airplanes\AIGAIM_FAIB_B767-200_GE
460 AIGAIM_21 Air Boeing 767-200 - BDSF DHL, for creating flight plans etc.

Sorry ... pass :(
I'm not even sure what "asobo junk" would be, let alone much else.
I only use the program to convert an FSX-format traffic file into an FS9-format file 'cos I can generate random GA ai-traffic FSX files with TrafficDatabaseBuilder (from the SDK) with country of origin specific tail numbers, whereas the FS9 version uses all-USA type tail numbers.
I've found a couple of the other features more by trial and error than anything else, but to actually use the in-depth capabilities I'd need to sit down for a while and wade through the extensively comprehensive help file.
Good luck :)
