• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 Problem compiling BluePrint's KMCO scenery in ADE 9

EDIT: Please apologize for double posting on the same thread. The slow response of my Internet connection forced me to repost this problem. My apologies.

Hello,

I am having some problems compiling the scenery file for BluePrint Simulation's KMCO Scenery. When I try to compile, ADE shows me this message, and the scenery does not compile.

I don't have any ideas on how to solve this issue. I want to modify the scenery file in order to add the necessary frequencies for the ILS approach for Runways 17L/35R and 17R/35L and gate assignments for my Virtual Airline.

The file opens and decompiles with no problem and saves fine on ADE. Yet for some reason, I am unable to compile the airport.

This issue is due to a problem with the MS FS9 Bgl compiler. It seems the original file was compiled using either AFCAD or AFX. The reason is most likely the size and number of aprons.

ADE provides a tool called Extended Compile (Check the File Menu) that allows users to split up the airport into different files and hopefully overcome the problem.

If this does not work then I am sorry but you would have to use either AFCAD or AFX - they do not use the MS compiler.

This problem is not present in the MS FSX Bgl compiler

Hi Jon,

I tried the extended compile and it too found an error. I also downloaded AFCAD 2.21 from Lee Swordy and unfortunately it too did not work. Is there any chance that I could send you a sample of the problematic file via email?

Let me know.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi...

I had the same issue with Blueprints KDTW - due to the number of aprons... I think they stack aprons for a layered effect... The original AFCAD2 program worked fine though...

Scott

You can certainly email it to me and I will see what can be done. I am surprised that AFCAD did not work. However email me - jon AT scruffyduck DOT co DOT uk

I tried again and this time AFCAD 2.21 worked! Apparently, I was doing the wrong methodology to open the airport.

So I was able to solve the gate assignment problem. Now what worries me is the next part the approach procedures. Is there a way where ADE9 can compile the approaches rather than the airport or these have to be linked together?

Thanks for your time.

Hi Scott,

I noticed that I was able to compile BluePrint's TJSJ scenery my guess is that it is more simplistic that the one used for Orlando.

Thanks for your insights.

With extended compile in ADE9 you can arrange for approaches to be compiled separately I think.

Jon

Yes you can but

the Terminal_NDB's are placed into the Starts and Comms (KHUT_ADE9_xxx) bgl.

The Terminal_ndb's belong in the APR.bgl listing them after the Terminal_waypoints since this is where they are used.
