• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Problem with compiling simple ADE GP-Line or GP-Poly for Prepar3D V1.4

ADE-Version: 01.76.6582 (Ver. 000.00.6662)
ADE-GP Version: V2.2.16(b)

I am receiving the following message when trying to compile an Airport for Prepar3D V1.4 containing just a simple GP-Line or GP-Poly:
  • - Invalid flightsim version

followed by the message:
  • - The GP-Compiler reports that it failed. This compile will now be aborted.

Installed is Prepar3D SDK 1.4.4747.0 and in ADE --> Settings --> Options --> Folders this is also pointing to it.

The strange thing is, I do not get the GP-Compiler-Options dialog presented!

For other Prepar3D Versions (V2 & V3) everything works fine. The problem seems only to be related with Prepar3D V1.4!!!!

You will find all relative information in the accompanied Zip-file!

Kind regards from Conrad F. Staeheli from Switzerland and thanks in advance for your Support.

Are you selecting P3Dv1.4 when you start ADE?

Howdy thanks for your reply.

No, as you can see in the accompanied documentation, I start ADE for Prepar3D V1 because the Project is ment to be for Prepar3D V1.4!!!
I am sure it did work before with another ADE-GP Version, but cant remember which one!

Kind regards from Switzerland, happy easter and dont overstress searching for the easter eggs! :stirthepo

Why version P3D v1.4? Are you trying to be compatible for FSXSE and FSX also? Because v1.4 of P3D is same as FSXSE and FSX.... Just wondering....

Hi Doug, you just got it right. I personally use still Prepar3D V1.4 besides V2.4 and V3.4. I do not have FSX installed anymore, I use P3D V1.4 as Substitute. I am developing also for FSX and use P3D V1.4 as Test-Environment!

Kind regards from Switzerland and happy easter. By the way, thanks for asking.

Good day Gary

On this occasion, I would like to thank you for the most competent and comprehensive Information and tremendous work you are giving on this and other Forums. Although I just joined this Forum a few days ago I always consulted the FSDeveloper Web-site for more than a decade.

Thanks once again and a real Happy Easter to you and your family.

Kind regards from Switzerland

For reasons I won't go into here, recent versions of ADE-GP don't support PV1. Compile for any other version of Flightsim, select FS8-style polys and use those for PV1.
It's easily fixed (if anyone is still using PV1) but can't be done until I return home.

Good day Don

on this Occasion I would like to take the Chance and thank you very much for all the Sceneries of Airports in BC you have been creating and for all the great Tools you are providing us.
For the Moment I can live with the Problem, I did already circumvent the Problem by utilizing PV2 and using the resulting GP compilation for FSX and PV1 and this worked perfect.

Have a very nice Easter and enjoy your travel.

Kind regards from Switzerland
