• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Problem with double objects after compiling airport

I have been given the ok by Art Poole to use his airports with my Bahamas sceneries, and I have had to reposition most to align them with the photoreal imagery, which worked so far, but I just got into a problem with Bimini. I may be due to not thinking straight right now due to health issues affecting my concentration right now, but I can't seem to figure it out.
I tried two different ways:
First, I opened ADE/tools/library object manager/add file. Then added the bgl from Art's folder, MYBS_ADE_AP_OBJ.bgl. it added two library objects in ADE, one of them being MYBS 01, which is the terminal. I then created a new airport bgl and object bgl with ADE.
When opening fsx, I get two terminals, one where Art has it and the other where I repositioned it.
I tried deleting Art's MYBS_ADE_OBJ.bgl, but then no terminal shows up even though it was added to ADE object library succesfully.
What am I doing wrong please?
Bernardo.

The ADE LOM is nothing more than an object database.

When you add objects to the LOM all you are really doing is adding records to the database, you are not doing anything with the actual model files. In this case the models are still in MYBS_ADE_OBJ.bgl.

Now that you have the models added to the LOM I assume you are adding the terminal to either the default airport or Art's .bgl file, then compiling.

As the model is still actually in MYBS_ADE_OBJ.bgl, that file has to be in an active scenery area for the model to show in the sim.

Your problem lies in the fact that not only is the model in MYBS_ADE_OBJ.bgl, there is also object placement data for the model in that file also. This is why you see two terminals when MYBS_ADE_OBJ.bgl is active and none when it is not active.

What you might try is instead of adding the model to your file you should File > Import Bgl > MYBS_ADE_OBJ.bgl

This will add Art's terminal in his location which you can them move to where you want it.

Disregard that procedure, it will still require that you have MYBS_ADE_OBJ.bgl active so you will still have 2 terminals.

I suggest you contact Art again and kindly ask him to e-mail you the .mdl file, you already have the textures.

Thanks Lane, sorry for the late reply. You are right, the first procedure was giving me 2 terminals, I had tried that. The .mdl is the solution.
