MSFS Reducing aerial scenery cgl file size

Hello all,
I am working on an airport scenery and the aerial scenery cgl file size is larger than 1 GB. In order to make it compatible to XBOX 1GB file size limit (or recommendation?) I need to find a solution; either to divide the file into two or reduce the size of the file.
The current file is 1.4GB.

1) is there a way to divide the file into two files?

2) Is there a way to reduce the size of the file? Like reduction of some coefficient, quality, etc?
Reducing the area coverage comes to mind but in my case, even if I included only the airport area the size is still 1.2GB, so I need something more.
We can't reduce the zoom level below 19 I believe, otherwise reducing the zoom level to 18 could be a solution.

So, what can be done for these two topics?

You should split the source file into 2 parts, and then compile each as a separate package. CGL files are specific to folder names and file names. You simply cannot have 2 of the same filename in the same package.

It may be possible to just divide the tiles between two packages instead of splitting the source image. But the key is to have 2 separate packages, each under 1gb.

Thank you for the reply Dick. Yes, evidently making two separate packages is one way to go but I can't imagine doing that for an airport scenery.

So I need a way to reduce the size of the cgl file then, but how?

I don't believe you can reduce the CGL size, excepting deleting tiles that the CGL is compiled from.

Thank you again, Ok I will work on reducing the area coverage and eliminate all non essential zones.

I am open to all other suggestions :) , if any

any updates or better solution to this? The xbox limit is super annoying if you want to, say, like me, make a ground cgl for the immediate airport surroundings that is ZL 20 and ends up being 1.3gb. downsizing is not an option, and in either case, even cutting parts out or deleting tiles doesnt seem to decrease the size. is there really no way of splitting or LOD'ing those? coming from other engines and games, i am consistently appalled with how s**ty these tools are and how restrictive. this is supposed to be a next gen game engine!
anyways if you have any idea or further insight, let me know please, thanks :)
