• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Repair uneven terrain on third party airports

Hi,

I'm entirely new to the SDK scene, but I have watched some videos on the topic of editing airports and terrain in MSFS. Unfortunately, I am not sure if what I am attempting is even possible. With third party DEM-meshes installed, some third party freeware (and payware) airports have some issues with terrain artifacts. Here for example, the runway has several "bumps" in it. I would like to attempt to flatten these, as these issues are likely not going to be fixed by the creators. I tried going in with the polygon tool in a project in MSFS, but that wasn't successful. Can I create an exclusion area for this mesh around the airports that have issues?

Is this something that's possible to do?

Best regards

Hi Matt:

From your posted text above, it looks like you intended to attach a screenshot; if so, please try again so we can reply,

With FS, we do not Exclude terrain, we modify it, or replace it with terrain mesh that has higher display priority.

Feel free to post screenshots and include Geographic coordinates of areas you want to see fixed, and we may be able to help.

Woops, you're right. Here it is:

There are several of these little elevation changes in the runway and on the apron. This is LSZT. I have to add, I did try to "edit existing airport", but I wasn't able to correct the elevation in certain spots, its like the runway has a fixed elevation that I can't override.

Hi Matt:

Your thread is not labeled for MSFS version (yet), but the Grass appearance suggests MSFS 2020; is this the "Bump" at Lommis ?
