• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Runway disappears under the ground on Prepar3d V5

Hi everybody

I've a problem, appeared with Prepar3D V5 on one of my aiports :

As shown below, the end of the runway goes under the ground.

I've a background poly set as "flatten" (Same altitude than the stock airport) and another background poly "Exclude Specific Airport Backgrounds Flatten MaskClassMap Autogen" to remove the stock data.
Strange : only the end of the runway goes under the ground and no the aprons or the taxi nearby

Somebody has an idea to solve this problem ?
Thank you for your help

NB : I use ADE 1.79 last version

Below another screenshot with the ADE Runway no transparent.
My problem seem to be only on the right (the white line, taxi and apron are visibles on the left.

Maybe it can help to find a solution ?

I have seen this somewhat in my own project. What ended up working was, adding a lot of small Flatten Polygons and adjusting them each bit by bit, until they sat right. (My Runways are sloped so this will be more extreme in my case.)
What I suspect is the edge of the flattens pull slightly higher as they join up with the not flattend terrain.

There are four new airport background flattens with _smooth at the end of the name. These are available in the latest ADE version but don't seem to have any effect. This may be because ADE is not coded correctly, the third party code I use does not like them or LM did not implement them properly. We are testing but the expectation is that they are intended to make these types of transition less harsh

Thank you for your answers :)
would that be some kind of bug? In this case, I should wait a little. Maybe a solution from LM
it would be logical since it is my only airport with the problem

NB : if I set the geographic coordinates like the stock airport ones, The problem disappear.
Of course, in this case, there is an offset with the background image (made with SbuilderX), since the coordonates of
the stock airport are wrong.
It seem to me difficult to change them, but, it seem to me interesting to precise it
