• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi all,

several things -

im making a new scenery for sharm and would like to add photoreal scenery to the ground- i have noticed that when using google earth on the internet webpage based one it shows watermarks but when using it in Sbuilder the water marks disappear - could this mean we are alound to use it as a source for the background- if not what was the point in Sbuilderx- finally how else can i have the photoreal ground - how to other designers make it - because Sbuilder clearly states that sbuilder is used for freeware and disbrutbional sceneries ?

Hi,

As already mentioned in the other thread you started you can use the background images you can import as a great reference to draw your own lakes, roads, other polygons or lines.

See the attached screenshot, it shows the preferences of SBuilder which mention that the user is responsible himself for obeying to the copyrights.

Or as also suggested in the other thread, you might look for other sources if you really want to use areal images. Check your local agencies, maybe they have something you can use for free or they allow you to use.

We can go round in as many circles as we like here but you cannot use the actual image itself from any sopurce in something that you distribute unless you comply with the copyright of the image provider. If anyone is using these images in a distribution without permission then they are in breach of copyright and stand open to legal action.
