• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

SBuilder and kml files

Hello

I have older projects created with fsx kml.
Now, I would have all my projects with SBuilder. Is there a way to import the kml poly /line data into SBuilder?
No problem for tags, I could set them manually.

Thanks for help;

Hello,

You can import SHAPE files into SBuilderX. Terrain BGLs are compiled by the Microsoft shp2vec SDK tool (which takes shape files). So if you identify the shape file that FSX KML produces you could try to import the sahpe file into SBuilderX. Hope that works.

Kind Regards, Luis

Thanks for answer.
I'll test bas soon as possible.

In other part, I recently discovered your Man2Sbuilder program.
Thanks for this useful program. I can now manage and work in version 3.1 all my former projects created with version 3 and manifold backgrounds.

Hello

I tested import of shp file created by fsx kml, it works fine. Thanks!

I have an other question: when using maps as bakground, is there a way to show / hide only some of them.
In fact, I use screenshots of cvx in TMFViewer to redraw roads, and I need to alternate between showing this pic and satellite pics. No way so far to directly import cvx lines / poly data in SBX?

Thanks for answer.
Pierrot.

Hello,

Unfortunately the View Maps function operates on all maps!

Sorry,

Luis

Thanks for answer.

I found an alternate solution for roads.
Most of data are rather similar in FS9 and FSX; I open FS9 RD file in SB2; then export as BLN.
Then, in SBX project, I append the BLN file.
That's good to check and join new roads with default ones.

It would have been more convenient if SBX (as SB2) could still directly import BGL files (when format is compatible, as in FS9 vector, poly files).
