• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Sbuilder and Ultimate Terrain roads

I can remove roads from the default FS9 scenery by creating an exclude polygon for layer 6. This doesn't work, however, in areas covered by Ultimate Terrain. Is it possible to use Sbuilder to remove roads placed by Ultimate Terrain, and if so, how?

Hello,

I suggest that you append to an empty SBuilder project one of the BGLs from UT that contain roads (VTP append).

Then, look to the properties of the roads. In particular check what layer they use. Then you can create the excludes. Alternatively you can delete the roads inside the project and compile again generating a BGL that will do the function of the original (which should be manually removed or renamed to become inoperative).

Kind Regards,

Luis

On the UT roads, you have to be careful because there are different layers set by activating different files depending on the user config of "bridge roads". I would have to go back and look, but one set uses roads on a layer that draw over water, and the other uses a layer which is covered by water.

The UT roads are not in the default road layer (6). So you need an exclude for the UT-road layer.

Thanks for the responses. I found out that the UT non-highway roads are in layer 7, and the highways in layer 8. Now I can create the excludes using Sbuilder. :D
