hi i just got Sbuilder, my questions are, why do i need to get a DEM data File to start of things?, can't i just work on the Fs default ground? second The link that Sbuilder recommends to download DEM data ftp://edcsgs9.cr.usgs.gov/pub/data/srtm/ , well it does not work for me and can't access the files even Fixing Explorers page setting. and i don't know where to find DEM Data for Australia anywhere.

any help is apreciated.. thanx.

Two questions

Hi,

1 The link is ok for me.

2. Which Sbuilder version are you talking about, Sbuilder v2.05 or Suilder for FSX?

Either one can work without background map, but if you have one this will ease your work.

In Sbuilder for FSX, you can get the manifold toolbar and your background tiles will be placed automatically. You shouldn't worry about georeferencing.

Regards,

José

i'm using the latest one for FS9, see i wanted to make an exclusion area. i place it and put all the lat/longtitute in. and i click compile Bgl, and i get no error or anything, but when i open the folder where it was supposed to make the Bgl i find nothing there. i dunno, am i supposed to fill land blocks of that area i'm excluding? i'm just lost.

Go to project properties and click the "Folders" tab. Make sure the paths are correct.

Also, before compiling go to Select on the menu bar at the top and then choose "Select All".

Now when you go to compile, and the BGL Compilation screen is up, check the "Copy files to BGL folders" option.

That should do it, check the folders and see if it did work.

thank u, yes i finally got it working and my self a couple of Bgl's of my state.
i found some 90m resolution DEM and used them to make the bgl
