• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

sbuilder error

PTSim forums haven't responded to this question so I'm assuming it's a bug they are avoiding in Sbuilder... :D

Has anyone gotten the error on start up of Sbuilder like this:
--
Run-time error '5':

Invalid procedure call or argument
--

I tried reinstalling Sbuilder but it still does that.

It happened randomly, it was running fine and then before you knew it started getting this error.

I also tried to delete the INI file but that didn't fix it either.

Thanks.. :)

Hi Kobbe

I am still thinking about it :) When you re-installed did you do a clean re-install or back over the existing directory.

You say it is random - can you recall what you were working on when it first happened?

Do you have any API Macros installed or are you not using it for object placement?

At what point do this happen - as soon as you run the program or at some other point?

I did a clean install. I deleted the entire folder and then unzipped the original Sbuilder install zip and then I also put in the update.

It was a little over a week ago when this started happening.

Nope, not using an API macros at all.

Strange why it is having this problem, there's not much explanation for it.

Thanks scruffy :)

OK Kobbe so when does the error occur - at startup or later? Does SBuilder open at all?

Hi,

It was a little over a week ago when this started happening.

If this is happening from only a few days ago, try to remember which programs you installed/unistalled in that period of time.

You can find the guilt!:)

Regards,

José

It happens when I run Sbuilder, the error pops up before it loads and then I click OK and it quits.

Yah I will try to remember what I uninstalled, maybe I can do the system restore thing to take me back to last week's settings on my computer.

Have you changed any textures or moved anything about? I seem to recall this error can occur if initial texture loading routine fails.

Hmm..

No, I haven't moved anything around. I deleted the INI file and allowed it to create another one on start up (Although it quits right away) so any paths that no longer exist shouldn't be a problem.

The system restore feature of my computer has quit working as well. That's an integrated main-part of the computer so if that's not working either then something worse must have happened.
