    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Hi!

I am designing a sloped runway, and I have made a sloped flatten in Sbuilder to go underneath the GMAX runway object.. all the way around the edges my runway fits perfect in the terrain, but some places the terrain bleeds through in the middle of my runway, like it isnt flat at siome points... Seems to me the Sbuilde flatten file I made isnt working in some location ?

Any ideas ??

Freddy

Hi Freddy,

Are you sure the LWM flatten has exactly the same slope as your GMax model? The resolution of the LWM flatten is not extremely high, so if there is a small deviation you could see such bleedthroughs.

Yepps...
have even tried to disable all files (default LWMs and VTPs), and making the underlaying LWM3 poly into a standard LWM2 flatten poly.. even then does it not see to have an impact on the mesh... so Im a big ? here :)

Hi Freddy,

Can you maybe show a screenshot of the problem? I have no idea what is really happing.

Hi Again!

Found the error!

The BGL with the PLASI light to the right, contained an invisible runway, and together with an AFCAD2 file they override my flatten switch.., now everything is a joy :)

Hi,

I am very happy that you get your sloped runway working! I would like to ask how you made the runway? Is it a ground non flat polygon painted with a texture?

Luis

Sloped runway, tarmac, and custom lights are made in GMAX, and use the attachtool to get the surface landable..

More pictures to come soon :)
