• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

SBuilderX Compile failure

I'm just beginning to try using photo scenery via SBuilderX (313) and have run square into a roadblock. When I try to compile anything I get the error shown in the attached screenshot. I have turned the UAC completely off to no avail.

Anybody have an idea?

Simple solution? Uninstall the program, then reinstall outside of the \Program Files folders. Even something like C:\SBuilderX, as your operating system is protecting you from yourself. :o

Heaven forbid that we think we should have access to our own files!

I did the uninstall/reinstall thing and put it on a different drive. Now when I try to connect with FSX I get an "Unable to connect with FSUIPC" error. I have a registered copy of FSUIPC installed and working properly.

Oi.

Is this the "beep and display dialog about FSUIPC" twice situation when showing FSX location? If so, just hit the menu choice again and it should connect.

If not, would need further information. I take it FSX is installed in the \Program Files directory?

Nope. the error (see attachment) appears every time I try to connect to FSX. I get it when I use "Show Aircraft" or "Fly aircraft to".

I tried reinstalling SBuilder again, this time on the same drive as FSX but in the root C directory. FSX is installed in the standard "Program Files (x86)" folder (Win7 64-bit). FSUIPC appears to be working fine with everything else and both Whisplacer and ADE communicate with no problems.

Would any other info be helpful?

My experience with anything newer than XP lasted about three days and involves a bad motherboard, returns, etc.

Hopefully the developer, Luis will pop in and offer any insights as to when the error message is generated.

Or..... you could always uninstall and reinstall FSX, outside of the \Program Files dungeon of doom. But that might be extreme when there's a simpler answer.

You must start FSX first, then start SBuilderX.

Then you can connect to FSUIPC.

Started FSX and then SBX and got the same thing. I have to wonder if it is an OS/SBX compatibility issue.

The good news is that moving the SBX installation to the C:\ root directory solved my original problem! For now I guess I'll just have to use the "Go to position" option and enter coordinates.

Thanks for the help!
