• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hallo Gents! :)

My question is: is it possible to compile my own textures with SbuilderX in to FSX?
I've allready tryed smthn:
I have made a Polygon and then i opend it's properties, and there i've done this:

26b4e4q2ua3b.jpg

But when i've compiled it into FSX i couldn't see my textures:(

So my question is:
  • Is this possible
  • If yes, how?

Thx for your help guys!
This is a great forum :rotfl:

Hey Jonas,

Your method of applying custom textures should work. Try adjusting the altitude of the poly. Sometimes the default value will either set the poly too low (under FS terrain) or too high (may become visible if you slew up to a higher altitude). I usually go back and forth between fsx and SBX, making adjustments with the altitude until I achieve the right height so that the poly will sit right above the default terrain/Afcad. I'd be interested if anyone knows how to find the correct altitude the correct or best way instead of tweaking sometimes a million times.

Regards,
Gerome

Thank you Gerome, for the fast reply!
Now it worked for me!

For the altitude:
  • maybe flatten everything to one single altitude
  • then open your airport in ADEx and double click on the main runway.
  • in the popping up window there is a very detailed altitude it's working very exactly
