• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi all, Ben from Airline2Sim here.

We have a team of real world pilots from airlines such as Flybe, Emirates, Jet2, BA, Thomson and easyJet and make super in depth tutorial videos for flight simulator. Our debut product, a 'Cadet' training course for the Majestic Dash 8 Q400 was released last year and has garnered strong reviews and performed well commercially. We're now proceeding with part 2 of the Q400 course and also are about to start a course with a former Emirates 777 pilot for the PMDG 777 family.

The course this time centers on the Middle East so we'll be using a mix of airports flying out of Dubai, these being Taxi2Gate Doha, Armi Project King Khaled Riyadh, MSK Karachi Jinnah remake, Orientalsim Dammam X and Bridge Guangzhao.

We're experiencing some issues with many of these airports in terms of getting the nav aids to match up with the charts. We have a real Emirates pilot doing our training so we're keen to get it right and tweak these sceneries for our own use.

The second 'line' training flight we're going to do involves landing at Riyadh in a DU 'dust' low viz situation. We're having some challenges around this because the ILS is a bit wonky.

Here's an example:

As you can see we are at 3 DME on the IKIA at 2960 feet, this is only 30 feet off the chart so 'close enough for government work..' as my A320 pilot says!

However here we are at minimums at 2240 (the point of becoming visual in our 'low viz situation' and you can see we're going to come down in the sand here, although the ILS tells us we're good.

The answer is either to fix it or go somewhere else. As we've story-boarded and got real world flight plans ready to go I'd rather try to fix it.

We have similar issues at Doha and a couple of others.

In terms of AI I like to keep it in for immersion (we use UT2) but I'd like to tweak the AFCADS to be able to stop traffic using our runway to allow us to film without being landed on top of, I'd like to close certain taxiways so we don't have anyone trying to taxi into us and also help me tweak the parking stands as at some of them GSX pulls you too far in. There's too much to think about in terms of flying, teaching and recording to worry about AI ruining a long take when we have a pilot here at $$$$$ per day.

In return for your help I'll buy you a copy of the sceneries we're working with if you don't already own them and pay you a reasonable fee for carrying out an agreed schedule of tasks. If this is you - or you know someone who is, then ping me an email ben (at) airline2sim.com. Cheers,

Ben
