• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Scenery objects not showing up in P3DV4 - Rick Bennett scenery issue

I am having an issue with getting Mr. Bennett's sceneries to work in P3DV4. They are hit or miss, it seems. Sometimes, everything shows up fine. Other times, it doesn't. I gave his KSBN a shot tonight for a flight, and none of the terminal buildings are showing up. I extracted all the scenery dependencies as necessary to Addon Scenery/Scenery and " "/Texture. It doesn't make sense why they wouldn't work. I do have Orbx and GSX all installed, but it doesn't make sense why they would somehow make it so that the terminal buildings don't show up. The jetways and parking spots appear fine. I see this is a common issue on P3D, but there is no real explanation as to what is going on here. If I knew, I might be able to effectively troubleshoot. I'm not uninstalling and reinstalling the simulator again - I just decided to downgrade from V5 last week, and have what is essentially a fresh installation with a bunch of addons, and Orbx sceneries now installed. I've already done the process a few times in the past few days to troubleshoot other things and have spent hours doing so. If I have to do it again, I'll survive without terminal buildings, lol.

Would anyone know what is going on in terms of the scenery? Is it just that S. Schwartz's terminal building models are not compatible with P3D? Or what? Thank you!

ORBX uses a very odd scenery structure, and often causes problems with things being missing in the area.
 
For which sim was this scenery made?

For example old FS2004 objects do often not show in P3D and also certain textures can give issues.

Supposedly FSX/P3D. I assume if the scenery works in FSX, it should also work in P3D, but maybe there’s some incompatibility there.
 
As far as I know, all of Schwartz‘s objects were made for FS 2004. So unless they had been converted, they would be visible in FSX but not in P3 D. Model converter X can convert the libraries to FSX or P3 D format.
