• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Shock Absorber Animation

Is it possible in FSX that the tire dives in a little bit on compression
and comes out of it afterward, like a car tire that drives on the street through
a bump?

I have seen this on Aerial Foundry F-18 in FS-9 and think this should
also be possible in FSX.

Would look nice, or?

Greetings

No...

I dont get it working.

Only the physical behaviour of the plane changes on ground but not
a single animation.

Hi...

...today I tried a little bit more.

I understood, the the physical simulation of the damping works fine

BUT

the animations are the problem.

For example I have a rear skid.

I animate it with a dummy. The dummy does the animation job.

The skid has a link. The dummy is keyed correct 0-100-200.

But no animation in FSX.

Why?

Greetings

DO you see the animation of the tail skid correctly in gmax? (if not, did you link the tailskid to the animated "dummy".

HAve you made sure that you have correctly used the attachpoint tool to "attach" the animation to the partname? (Or however it's done?)

If you've made a "dummy" part, is it a gmax dummy part, or is it a small part of itself? I understand that true "dummy" parts will not be recognized by the compilers.

Finally...

..after fiddling a whole night with control I did understand how it works.

But I must say, without trial and error, there is no chance to get this
working.

Now the machine its doing its work.

Pffffffffffffffffffffff.

Greetings
