• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

When I was trying so desparately to get help for my tetrahedron which I figured out finally, I now have another dilemma with SODE. I am trying to place an FLOLS on NAS Alameda. No matter how hard I try to have the correct info all I keep getting is the dreaded red X. I can't see anything wrong with it, can you please help me out. I can get it to place as a bgl but as soon as I try to position it it flies away in ADE. I am going over to bug ARNO why it does that because other bgl's do that to me too but if they are a big bldg I can find it again but not this little FLOLS. Thank you. Attached is the file

Are there no more SODE authorities who can check out this dilemma and fix it for me. I have spent three days of hours asnd hours on it...countless changes or combinations in both the simobject and the xml code comparing it against all working examples I have and there are many with no luck. Still a red X every time. PLEASE, PLEASE !!!!

You urgently need to study the SODE-SDK.
Download the SODE demo and study it too.

Only when you have understood and internalized these things should you continue working with SODE.
Otherwise it will never work, because you will keep making the same mistakes.
That's not the way to go with SODE.

Take a look at posts 2 and 22 here (https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/sode-issue-again.453495/)!

These things are the basis and must be observed!!!

Thank you for your reply. I thought that I had done all of that. I have the SDK and studied it well, I thought even comparing it to other SODE files. Something just seemed to escape my notice This seemed to be such a simple SODE. I have been successful to place the tetrahedron even using the conditional xml for wind speed and direction. In examining the model.cfg again, I noticed that there are two "/" in front of normal= which obviously should not be there I just saw comparing my successful tetrahedron which I am changing right now for the FLOLS. I have over thirty successful SODE simobjects and xml codes in many airports for both flags as well as windsocks at numerous airports so I have tried to carefully follow your prior examples and instruction. Sometimes things just elude you. THAT WAS INDEED THE PROBLEM! I now just have to adjust the heading which in my tutorial says is "trial and error". It IS on the runway where it belongs located but was facing incorrectly. I can fix that. Problem detected and solved by comparison which I WAS doing but just didn't see it until now.
