• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Just a heads up. After the latest patch (which works great for most users), the SDK installer download reverted to 0.10.0.0, when we have been using 0.11.0.0. I don't know if this is a mistake, or if we should revert to 10.

Hello:

Reportedly, the download link via DevMode Menu Bar is for SDK Docs, but SDK itself is now part of the MSFS-2020 'content' update system ? o_O :scratchch

PS: The online version of the SDK documentation does not appear to have any "version number" information:

https://docs.flightsimulator.com/html/index.htm

Well then there is something even odder since the download link in 1.14.6.0 is for the full (byte identical) 10 SDK. I have asked for an official position on this.

It does provide release notes up to and including v11

https://docs.flightsimulator.com/ht...tm?rhhlterm=release releases&rhsearch=release So 11 is definitely the latest but not being delivered via download in 1.14.6.0 I am sure y'all are aware that the SDK is external to the sim and the Dev Mode internal so they are not exactly the same thing

OK - this appears to be a snafu from Asobo (officially confirmed). Hopefully they will correct it shortly. 11 is current, 10 is being delivered via the download link

ASB have corrected this issue and the download for the SDK from 1.14.6.0 is v11

Just tried my hand at building a scenery from Google maps, but MSFS freezes when I click "Build Package". The size of the package is just over 5GB, so might that be causing the problem/freeze? I'll delete and will try a smaller area.

When MSFS-2020 > DevMode Menu > Help > SDK Installer is first clicked to download "MSFS_SDK_Installer_0.11.0.0.msi" , this is the result:
"Request cannot be served."

Clicking it again a few minutes later, the link works.

One might wonder whether Azure is pronounced "As-You-Were", or if 'pf-content-live' is not actually "live" ...until ping-ed more than once ?

PS: I noticed that today's successful download of "MSFS_SDK_Installer_0.11.0.0.msi" was named "MSFS_SDK_Installer_0.11.0.0.msi(1)".

When I checked my download folder I found that I already had a prior download of "MSFS_SDK_Installer_0.11.0.0.msi", thus the re-named *.MSI file.

Interestingly, here are the file sizes of the (2) apparently different files:

MSFS_SDK_Installer_0.11.0.0.msi(1) March 28, 2021

1,986,363,769 Bytes = 1,986,363.769 KB (in decimal)
1,986,363,769 Bytes = 1,939,808.3681640625 KB (in binary)

MSFS_SDK_Installer_0.11.0.0.msi March 9, 2021

1,790,564,223 Bytes = 1,790,564.223 KB (in decimal)
1,790,564,223 Bytes = 1,748,597.8740234375 KB (in binary)

That is a difference of:

195,799,546 Bytes = 195,799.546 KB (in decimal)
195,799,546 Bytes = 191,210.494140625 KB (in binary)

195,799,546 Bytes = 195.799546 MB (in decimal)
195,799,546 Bytes = 186.7289981842041 MB (in binary)

186.729 MB = 0.186729 GB (in decimal)
186.729 MB = 0.182352539 GB (in binary)

https://www.gbmb.org/mb-to-gb

One might wonder what was 'added' in the latter MSFS_SDK_Installer_0.11.0.0.msi ...that was not in the original MSFS_SDK_Installer_0.11.0.0.msi ? :scratchch

BTW: For the record, here is the info for my "version 10" MSFS-2020 SDK download: :pushpin:

MSFS_SDK_Installer_0.10.0.0.msi 1,561,387 kb February 16, 2021

If MSFS-2020 SDK downloads are to be 'revised', must we now plan to re-download them periodically to get updated "numeric" SDK versions ? :yikes:

That has always been the case. I check once a week

[EDITED]

"Software upgrade versioning is the process of assigning either unique version names or unique version numbers to unique states of computer software. Within a given version number category (major, minor), these numbers are generally assigned in increasing order and correspond to new developments in the software. At a fine-grained level, revision control is often used for keeping track of incrementally different versions of information, whether or not this information is computer software.

Modern computer software is often tracked using two different software versioning schemes—internal version number that may be incremented many times in a single day, such as a revision control number, and a release version that typically changes far less often, such as semantic versioning[1] or a project code name."

[END_EDIT]

AFAIK, if MSFS-2020 SDK v11 has been 'revised', the version number for the latest build should also be incremented, IIUC ...as has been done previously: :scratchch

Perhaps the update engine could alert us of available 'downloaded' SDK updates, and allow us to install it from Content Manager as an optional item ?

I downloaded the file that luco813 had uploaded. Could you create the scenarios from the files sent by Luca, the scenarios and whypoints with the procedures contained in the files?
I reload Luca's works.
Can you create the bgl files and scenarios for these airports?

You need to get the latest SDK 0.16.0. You can get this by running MSFS and in Dev Mode downloading it.

You seem to be asking other people to do your work for you?
