• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

If you also read my blog, you might already know that Nick and I have plans to create a community for FS developers. This new community should become a friendly place where developers can discuss their problems, just like SceneryDesign.org is for scenery designers at the moment :).

Actually, we will be using the current SceneryDesign.org forums as the basis of this new community, by adding new sections for aircraft design, the new FsX missions, etc. But don't worry, this new community will get different entry portals, so that scenery designers can still only access the scenery design part if they wish.

At the moment I am preparing the forum for these changes, so it could be that you might notice some small changes (like renamed forums, etc). Stay tuned for more news about this new community, as we hope to go live within a few weeks.

...it could be that you might notice some small changes...
For example Nick finally becoming an administrator. :D
Congrats to Nick and to you both for this wonderful idea! As I'm trying to do this in a smaller way for germany in my own forum I'm really looking foreward to the new forums here. :)

Thanks Thorsten.... :)

Thank Arno for letting me "adapt" things here ;) It will soon be the ultimate place for clever people!

Hi Thorsten,

Yes, you spotted that correctly. I have given Nick some extra power, I think that is not such a big thing as the site starts to grow. And once we will extend into a wider FS developer community, there will also be some extra moderators for the different sections.

Nick and I are now also ready to announce all the changes (testing is almost ready), so stayed tuned for that :).
