• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Stock Airport Double Yellow Lines Replaced With Hold Short Markings

Hi there,

I simply created a new project from a stock MSFS airport, and all of the hold short lines were marked as "EDGE_SOLID_ORTHO_BACK_LIGHT" painted lines, and all locations where there should be a double yellow line are "HOLD_SHORT_BACKWARD_MARKED" and "HOLD_SHORT_FORWARD_MARKED." Is there a way to fix this? This is my first time using ADE, and I simply created a taxiway sign fix for the airport that I was working on, only to find that these painted lines were reversed when I imported into the sim.

Also, two more questions:

1. Is there a way to make double-sided taxiway signs, or do we have to just place two taxiway signs right next to each other?

2. Is there a way to functionally add stock buildings? I added a stock building in ADE and it didn't appear in the sim.

Please tell us what airport you loaded otherwise it is hard to help. I am not familiar with problems on painted lines since they are relatively untested. If there are problems with orientation then I can report it to Asobo. In the meantime it needs testing to replicate. To be clear are you saying that these are the lines in ADE coming from the sim? If so are the lines correctly oriented if you load the airport without any modification package in the community folder.

I don't think there is a function to create double sided signs but I will check

What do you mean by stock buildings? Generic Buildings do not work but you can load your own glTF models or use stock models from the Library Object Manager

The airport is KCRQ. Try creating a new project from a stock airport, and then build the package without changing anything. You’ll see all double yellow lines are turned into hold short bars. You can see this is true in ADE too when hovering over the lines.

I’m just asking because I didn’t want to touch the painted lines, but ADE changes them and messes them up on import :(
 
OK - I will check the loading code for bugs. And you are saying it is changing the painted line type or drawing it in the wrong orientation?

Wrong painted line type. As in each double double yellow line is instead “6-24” runway ground markings and hold short bars.
