• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 Stock taxisigns

Hi,

I modified an airport with ADE9 1.67, but during tests I realised that the stock taxisigns appear together with the correct (modified) ones. Also appeared some stock objects. Using the "Import stock data" feature
and deleting the surplus (stock) objects in the modified file helped eliminate them. However, did not happen the same with stock taxisigns, which persist showing up.
So, is there any way to get rid of them ? I know that stock data cannot be deleted, but I think in some airports in my FS9 the stock taxisigns was possible to make them not to appear together with the proper ones as the newer file goes some layers (priority) up.

Normally when you load the stock airport (or import the stock taxi signs), small rectangles will appear which are the stock taxi signs. You should only need to delete the ones you no longer want.

If they did not show up, then you will need to create a polygon that will exclude taxi signs covering the area desired.

You mean those which are labelled "Exclude all" ? I see them when inadvertently "open from bgl" an airport, even though there is a project for that.

Anyway many thanks for your suggestion, as the problem was solved. Sometimes we wonder why we did not think about it, even if it was easy.

Hi,

No, if you hold the mouse over the small rectangle the tooltip will say something like Taxi Sign.

Any rectangle that says Exclude All will exclude all objects, including autogen (at least in FS9).

I have never noticed what you describe. Yet, I have noticed a tiny rectangle, as I described in my previous message, which says "exclude all"
despite it had to have excluded everything as we both know. Nevertheless, it is safe to delete it.

You are talking about micro excludes that ADE uses to 'hide' stock objects. You refer to the fact that those for signs say 'Exclude A'll' This is deliberate. During the development of ADE we found that using the specific exclude for taxi signs was unreliable and could clash with other exclusion rectangles if they overlap. Micro excludes are very small and are targeted on the reference point of an object. It would be extremely rare for one to affect any other object in the airport. If you remove these then you will remove the way that ADE handles stock objects such as signs and will risk duplication and other problems. As already mentioned these are only visible if you open the Bgl file which generally speaking you should not. Always work from the project file.
