• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Tanker 910 repaint

I am sure most of you are familiar with the DC-10 air tanker that has been used the last couple of years to fight wildfires in California. When I first saw it I knew I wanted one for my fleet. Well thanks to the gift of FS Repaint V2 from my better half I now have one. It lacks the belly tank of its inspiration but I hope to add it later. The repaint is based on the BGA DC-10 model from the Swiss Air 3 pack by Jonathan Stewart, Remo Eugster and Robby Pauletto of HOUSE-RP.

Once I got it to this point I had to fly it :D. I can't wait to build a few fire fighting missions!

Witnessed many examples of it's use during the numerous fires we had down here a couple of months ago. Some darn fine flying is all I can say! Great to see it represented in FSX.

Indeed Lance, those guys have nerves of steels and balls of brass!

Did you see the damage to the left wing from clipping several trees in June 2007? Talk about a close call!

Link to the texture!!

I think I'm done tweaking it for now. I changed to a redder hue on the "fire orange" paint and added some small details. I want to build some missions for her and finish my CGASSD scenery project, then maybe I'll try my hand at modeling a belly tank for her.

I've uploaded the texture and instructions in a .rar file to a Box.net account at the following link:

You need to have the FSX Swissair Douglas DC-10-30/ER model. If you don't already have it you can get it here from flyawaysimulation.com:

Its available other places as well... been around forever.
