Taxiway markings

Hi all,

I'm having a problem with taxiway markings looking strange, and I have a feeling it has something to do with exclusion settings but I'm not sure.

I deleted the original taxiway in a FSX default airport and replaced it with a shorter one and then created a new one 90 degrees to the other. But I'm getting this:

And it's drawing extra lines on each side even though the properties match the ones for the previous segment heading towards the runway.

Here's what it looks like in FSXPlanner:

So am I missing something regarding exclusion settings or is there something else?

Thanks,
Denny

It's a bit difficult for me to see what might be causing this from the pictures. Could you post the XML for the airport?

I'm not sure what the issue is here. Everything looks normal in your xml file. You did have 3 non-attached taxiway nodes. Running the Compile -> Clean All option got rid of them. I haven't had time to check it in FSX to see if that made a difference though. Perhaps it's one of those strange FSX quirks? Maybe recompiling the file and then making sure your scenery cache in FSX has been flushed might help.

Well cleaning up the extra taxiway points definitely fixed the end of the taxiway but the extra side lines are still there. I'll keep tweaking, thanks for the help. :)

I've witnessed the same issue at several airports and for the most part I've been able to remove the "double line segments" by deleting and reinserting the taxiway segment(s) and node(s). Sometimes the double lines migrate along the taxiway as I remove and reinsert. The blue taxiway edge lights are double sized and brighter so the issue is visible across the airport.

I have noticed double runway edge lines since I installed ActiveSky Graphics.

I am not sure if this is related to what you are seeing or not, but it seems like it might be.

I fixed it by deleting the 2nd segment and changing the existing taxiway endpoint from the "branch" to the one at the end. Then the "branch" side lines didn't look right so I'm deleting that right now and going to test (takes forever to reload FSX each time I change something...grrr....)

adding extra nodes inbetween tends to help with the stubborn little segment that just won't clean up. I feel your pain! Good Luck.
