• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Template:WHATEVER - Discussions - Do not link to forum

Hi Folks

As per title.

Unlike 'content' pages,
who's Discussion tab automatically generates & links to the forum topic,
Template: Discussion tabs do not.

See example at - Template:Navbox-Missions-ObjRef
Clicking on the "Discussion" tab opens a wiki discussion page.

Please correct.

PS
Can we please correct the stylesheets,
particularly the black wiki-links.

I would have to check what you did there, as I don't fully understand your template concept check. Do you have a sample page that shows the problem?

Can we please correct the stylesheets,

Asked that to the designer, no reply yet.

Hi Folks

Apologies Arno,
originally forgot to add an example link.
Now included in original post.

Many thanks

Hi Paul,

Is that template supposed to be used alone? It seems to me the redirect is working on pages where it is used. Or I am missing some point here?

Hi Folks

Arno -
Templates are, in the main, intended for transclusion.

As is the case for Template:Navbox-Missions-ObjRef.

It's a fairly simple constructor.
Try clicking on the edit tab,
the structure is easily comprehensible. :)

It's the two underlying templates that do the work,
turning it into a Navbox 'pretty-table'.
Those're intended for deployment across the wiki.

The Template:Navbox-Missions-ObjRef block is intended to be 'incorporated intact'
in the foot of every objref function page.
(See the wip objref template at - Template:Missions-ObjRef-FunctionName).

Though it can also be used via :subst
where the content can then be edited,
and once saved,
it's content becomes 'static' at that location, (still editable, but non-updating for any template changes).

The content links of Template:Navbox-Missions-ObjRef
have in the vast majority not been created yet.

Again these are dependent on me *
completing the various tables, (marked by placeholders),
for incorporation in - Template:Missions-ObjRef-FunctionName.

* Or anyone else interested in giving a hand.

Anyway, enough about that -
the issue is the non-working 'Discussion' tab. :D

PS
Can we please enable SVG file in the Upoads.
I'd like to fix the 'ambox' placeholder images.

Also -
Any chance of checking Mediawiki is running the latest 'parser' version,
as there seems to be a problem with #if: etc. not working,
this was fixed in 1.6 and we're supposedly running 1.10.

Paul,

Could not find any setting to make the discussion tab work correctly on your templates. If this is really important to you I might have to ask the authors of the integration plugin we use.

But coming back to my earlier question, to me it seems the discussion tab is working fine on pages that use a template (for example this one). As the templates are supposed to be used in another page, am I wrong when I say that it does not matter if their discussion tab is not working?
