• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4 traffic for boats and ships- writing file

I have the aibtc02 tutorial but it leaves many questions unanswered. It shows the protocol for writing, but it does not show where to go to start all this. It shows the Ttools screen but I have forgotten how to load things into it and what to load. Is there a step by step program to show all this?
I tried to use aifp, but I think I saw a screen saying it was not designed to use ships.
I did use ADE starting with a parking spot, drawing apron links all the way over to my destination, ending with a water rwy with hold short. Double checked that all apron links were connected correctly.
Ship shows up but 10 seconds later it disappears.
So- back to the above..... I went to Google Earth only to find that the instructions did not tell me I had to go to Google Earth ON THE WEB. (often things are left out) Anyway- I did make my path - kml? Now... what do I do with it and how do I do it? Instrcutions leave that out! Thanx ahead of time for any viable help.

I only have one question now. Writing a file to compile for a traffic file is it true I cannot have any spaces between words? If so- what if my ai title has spaces in it?

You have to write the same letters for the boat you have written in the sim.cfg for this boat for instance:
BoatsBark_Statsraad_Lehmkuhl.txt
AC#1,20,"AI_Statsraad_Lehmkuhl"

I'll give you an example, I wrote last week with a bark from HN

You do not have to use GE on the web - I use the downloaded version to write KML files. Works great... now unless something has changed now in MSFS... I don't have it but thinking about picking it up later today.

thanx, Ripcord.... bush also helped a great deal. over in Hong Kong there seems to be many 'shallow' waters here and there. boat file worked but got run around. hahaha Made a taxiway (water) up to whre there was dep water. Solved the problem. Must be a p3d anomoly here... perhaps in FSX too. Dunno. Anyway, for future refs I might try a water mask to see if I can get that to wok instead of water taxiways.
