• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

VB.net Programmer

I am in need of a VB.net programmer who can tweak some lines of code on some pre-built software that has been developed in house.

There's not much to do, just get the software to ignore one step and continue processing.

What I'd like to do is eventually is release the program to the community for rapid integration of datasets into not only FSX/P3D but also other sims and geospatial software.

I'd like to turn this into the swiss army knife of terrain (photoscenery and elevation data) development.

I don't have any time to continue my own projects and want to scale back to working on Hawaii and other smaller areas. But I don't want the tools already developed to go to waste.

Hi Dean,

For some small tweaks I might be able to help. It's a long time ago I did VB.net though.

I've primarily been using C# these days, but I should still be able to help as well. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks guys. I'll have to figure out what step it gets to before it needs a command to tweak. I'll dig up the code this week.

Basically the program automates up until compiling for FSX, i.e. mixes RGB + alpha 1 and alpha 2 in photoshop, I just need it to basically look and see if the water and blend masks exist in two separate folders, if no files exist just move on to the generating *.inf files stage.

If I can get that included then I can mass render. Actually I should have it pause at that stage or something. I'll have to refresh myself how the current version runs :S

:)
