• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Vehicle Taxiways

With the latest update I cannot get vehicle taxiways to connect. Joined a vehicle parking slot to main taxiway system with a parking taxiway my project will compile however if you change parking taxiway to vehicle taxiway then parking slot disconnects and I get an error message when compiling.
All movement now seems to be jerky and slow

We haven't changed anything in the graphics engine, or added any new items that need to be drawn, so I'm not sure why the drawing would be slower. Displaying night lighting does slow things down a bit, but that can be turned off for most of the time.

As for the changing a parking taxiway to a vehicle taxiway, what you describe could easily happen. A parking taxiway must end in a parking spot. So if the parking taxiway end index is 10, for example, that taxiway will end at parking location whose index is 10. But if you then change the parking taxiway to a vehicle taxiway, FSX Planner no longer looks for parking location 10, but rather to a taxiway node whose index is 10. If this is found the newly designated vehicle taxiway will be drawn to that node. If the node is not found, then the newly designated vehicle taxiway will just disappear, and later cause errors unless it is removed using the clean up options.

If I could get confirmation from one of the airport gurus that this is how vehicle taxiways should behave that would be great.

Many thanks for your reply.

I was trying to connect a vehicle parking space with a vehicle taxiwaywhen I should have been using a parking taxiway, then using vehicle taxiway afterwards

Again many thanks
