• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I am sure I can't be the only one paying attention to this...even though I am not a tester. Though, it seems to me some of the developers HERE are not paying attention because things that MS has stated many times seem to get asked or blasted as not going to happen in this forum. Apparently by ignorant people that don't actually go looking for answers before stating their opinions. :) Just sayin'

Here is the latest and it answers quite a bit. Check the vid with the devs as well if you have not already watched it.

the fault is not of any developer out here; the reason of confusion is that ms has not yet clearly say what the sdk exactly is and or include.
the video you posted up there is nothing else than a publicity stunt without any content of technical information regarding developing.
also is very suspicious that those who actually have the sdk will be (very likely) as already discussed in this forum under nda even after release.
ms can tell you whatever they like; simply because you believe it.
got it now ?

Cool it guys. Those who know what the SDK contains are not allowed to say and those who don't are speculating.

I think one reason for the confusion might be that both Microsoft and Asobo are active on many platforms at once. You'll find information on their websites, on discord, twitter, instagram, facebook, etc.etc. It is impossible to follow everything that's been put out if you also have a business to run, or if you're on a 9 to 5. Naturally, there will be some confusion and, yes the same questions will be asked over and over again. It's not really an issue as long as there's people willing to answer those questions time and time again ;)

On the 18th we will know if the SDK ships with the sim. If it does, then we also need to understand it is an evolving SDK, and there will be updates following further testing by the SDK beta group. And I agree that the barrage of interviews and tweets is an advertising method to stir up interest in buying the sim. I would believe only what the sim delivers on the 18th.

Grrrr, this is getting silly, We have an announcement of a Blender exporter that will be "available on 18th", so I would assume it requires access to SDK files for the export to work. If not then the exporter will not work until the SDK is available.

I'll just wait for the 18th and see, I guess.

maybe its just a language thing where some keywords get lost in translation,
in the interview he references "our tools" than continues to say "we need to work on it",
(the link i posted should start at the time where he is saying that)

@ronh
it is rumored to be rudimentary and a very basic limited SDK for now,
from what ive gathered so far (its also mentioned in the video) you need to press on "developer mode" while in sim to access these tools,
it doesn't appear to be offline SDK the way we expect it atm, prob accessing these tools requires online Azure subscription or something,

Aaaaactually..... you're wrong. The exporter works just fine without any SDK.

While I'm yet to find a official statement on the matter, I wouldn't bet against Jon on this - he's got some pretty good sources.
