• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello!

I have the problem that sometimes some static aircrafts don´t appear when I arrive at my destination. When I go directly to the destination then all aircrafts are there. So it only happens when I do a flight to the affected destination.

I have all my static aircrafts together in one scenery folder (highest priority in FSX libary)) and adress them (bgl file with Instant Scenery) from each airport I want to add this aircrafts. Not sure but it seems to affect only a few aircrafts. Weird because I created all in the same way!?

Any idea?

Thanks,
Holger

UNUSUAL!!! SAMM static models are scenery. If a model displays at all, it should always display.

The only reasons I can think of for it not displaying on some occasions is if your scenery complexity setting is changed or if you've got a duplicate guid somewhere and the guid assigned to the static is "captured" by the other scenery. This could happen if you have a second SAMM library assigned to some distant airfield that contains some of those "missing" models and you start at that airfield - though this seems unlikely if your main library is at the top priority.

Hi Don,

thank you for your reply! The scenery complexity is in the highest position. But your second guess could be right one because when I first startetd to add static aircrafts to my airports I initially added the static aircrafts objects to the airport folder itself. So there are some sceneries in my FSX libary which include the same static aircrafts which are also in my main static aircraft folder.

Its alright to do that (I do), but you must do it for all airports and dispense with the library approach. Easiest way to prove that's the problem is to disable all the other airports and see if the statics reliably appear.
