• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

It seems that ADE makes a good acronym for the new Graphical Airport design client for SDE. This is a little poll to get opinions on what this actually stands for :) :)

I like 'Another Daft Editor' but not practical for newbies...LOL and that particular acronym is probably more suited to some of those using it.

Daft — British slang for silly

Hi, GrahamS

I like 'Another Daft Editor' but not practical for newbies...LOL and that particular acronym is probably more suited to some of those using it.

Perhaps a good name for a puzzle or a joke, not for an Airport Facilities Data Editor tool, I think.

Regards,

José

Hi, Grahams

Excuse me.

My native language is Portuguese and sometimes I don't understand some situations, as joking, for example.

But I did not like the name ADE, whatever it means. It's a brand of beverage. Now I'm joking, too.

Regards,

José

It's OK I understand the difficulties, I am sure that Jon understood, language can be a difficult thing in text form.

Best regards

language can be a difficult thing in text form.

Not only in text form Graham, the only two words I know in Portugese are obrigado (thank you) and presunto (ham). This after spending about two months in Brazil :(

George

I am even worse I usually spend two weeks each Year in a small vallage just north of Faro but my Portugese is almost non existent :o :o

We're a great lot, arn't we, what's Portugese...LOL But at least you appear to have a favorite for your poll, Jon!

Airport Design Editor it is :) Now to the hard part - writing the application ;)

The question is not "What *should* ADE stand for,"
but rather,
"What DOES ade stand for?"

In other words (to the best of my knowledge), the user here named "Phantoms" came up with "ADE". He must have had something in mind. Perhaps, "Another d__n editor"? :p

I suggested ADE because it's similar to SDE. Then I had to think of a meaning on the fly and since it uses SDE, I came up with Airport Design Enhancement for SDE (or something like that).

I think Airport Design Editor as chosen by the poll is a very fitting name.

Airport Design Editor is what it is and it will be a Graphical (CAD like) client application for SDE :) I would not recommend drinking it :D
