Hi all,

A common error when using XtoMDL (especially the older versions like the FSX one) is that DirectX 9.0c is not installed and that XtoMDL then gives an error that is hard to understand for users when you try to compile.

I know the FSX XtoMDL depends on DirectX 9.0c, but do the P3D versions also do so? I think the P3D v1 XtoMDL does, as it is basically the FSX version. But does anybody know until which version this dependency was there? Else I need to find a machine where I did not install all these dependencies to check which version has this dependency and which one does not.

Hi,

I think I have found the answer myself already. I took the laptop from my wife, which didn't have any of the dependencies installed and tried to run a whole bunch of XtoMDL versions on it. In short, all of the XtoMDL versions I tried depended on DirectX 9.0c. The FSX one, but also P3D ones at least until v4.4 (and probably the newer ones as well). Before I installed this DirectX version they all failed and after installing it they worked fine.
