FSX Acceleration SDK problem

Hi!
I've been trying for years to instal the FSX Acceleration SDK with no luck...
I followed every tutorial availble but when I run the sp1a instal on the acceleration dvd it says that I need the FSX deluxe sdk to be instaled... Shouldn't the accel sdk work as a stand-alone version?
Thank you for your time!

Hi Folks

Shouldn't the accel sdk work as a stand-alone version?
Xpand -
It should work.

Supposedly,
the fsx_sdk_sp1a.exe supplied on Acceleration
does not require RTM SDK to be present.

It was intended to be
an upgrade path for FSX Standard users.

Info source ACEs team members.

PS
Are you installing to the same PC as Acceleration ?

Yes, I am installing in the pc that has the FSX acceleration, but it still it doesn't work...

Hi Folks

Xpand -
All I can say is
we've been told that's how it's supposed to work.

You're not the first to say it doesn't,
and nobody yet has reported back a success.

The Accel SDK is an update, so needs the RTM version from the Deluxe DVD

As Paul said, according to ACES to SP1A SDK on the Acceleration DVD should work without the RTM installed. This does not apply to the SP1A SDK versions that are downloaded. After that it should be possible to update to the SP2 from the Acceleration disk.

But no guarantee if it works, we would love to hear user feedback on that. Can't test myself, since I only have the Deluxe version and not the Standard.

Ok, thanks... I'll keep trying in my free time... I'll make sure to warn you if I should be successful!

Hi Xpand,

Did you manage to install the SDK from FSX Acceleration DVD finally?

I bought one recently (more than a year after your last message) expecting it to work, but it didn't. I get the same error messages about needing the SDK included in the FSX Deluxe edition.

Any suggestion to make it work will be appreciated. :)

Thanks in advance.

Just to clarify my situation...

First, I installed FSX Standard.

Then, I installed FSX Acceleration. Although I didn't installed FSX SP1 , it's supposed that FSX Acceleration does.

Afterwards, following the instructions I found on the wiki, I execute the FSX SDK SP1A installer from de FSX Acceleration DVD. In fact, I purchased my copy os FSX Acceleration through the web, but in any case I find SDK and SDK\SP1 folders once I decompress the package.

Finally, this is the error message I get:

"This service pack requires the original release of Flight Simulator (FSX) SDK, which you can find on Disk 1 of FSX Deluxe Edition. Please install this first by running Setup.exe in the Disk 1 SDK directory, and then start SDK SP1A installation."

Do I really need FSX Deluxe?

It's strange that although my FSX Standard & FSX Acceleration are in Spanish, the message is in English. Could that be an incompatibility?

Thanks for your help.

Alberto.

The RTM SDK is only available on the Deluxe DVD and is a prerequisite for updating to the Acceleration SDK.
